DIDO, QUEEN OF CARTHAGE by Christopher Marlowe
After the fall of Troy, Aeneas and his men land on Carthage on their way to Lavinium, where they are offered food and shelter by Dido, Queen of Carthage. An intense love affair ensues between Dido and Aeneas, leaving their fates in the hands of the Gods. Marlowe’s play is a classical story of destiny, fate and love, in this brilliant and intimate production of Dido Queen of Carthage.
The Rose is an indoor archaeological site, it is advisable to dress with an extra layer as there is no heating. There are also no toilets so please use Shakespeare’s Globe just a few hundred meters away.
All performances at 7.30 pm (Sundays 3.00 pm only) No Monday Performances
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the production starts to pay for / collect your tickets.
