MUDLARKING WITH THE ROSE
We are delighted to have secured the expertise of Dr. Fiona Haughey, Director of Archaeology on the Thames Project and a world leader in foreshore archaeology, who will lead a group from the Rose for mudlarking along the Bankside foreshore.
The Thames has always been a key player in the history of the City of London and those who lived on the south bank, within the Borough and along Bankside. A walk along the river bank will reveal the layers of history of human involvement in the area.
May 12th. will be the only available date this year to learn from the expertise of Dr. Haughey and, as places are limited, early booking is vital. Owing to the uneven surfaces, this activity is not suitable for children under 7 years of age and one paying adult should accompany each youngster 7 to 14 years of age. This educational, fun activity will take place whatever the weather and will commence at 12.30pm at the Rose on Saturday, May 12th. and finish at about 2pm. Suitable clothing and footwear is essential.
